Wherever there is life, there is movement.

Early in the morning a city begins to burst into ‘life’ as people file out of the train stations like ants escaping out of an anthill to begin the daily hustle. Whether it’s birds darting through the trees, a responsive audience or a beating heart, wherever there is life, there is movement.

As a new Dad I remember the relief when I finally spotted the ever so slight rise and fall of our newborn’s chest as his lungs filled with air during an especially deep sleep.

The Holy Spirit is the source of all life and the catalyst that causes and empowers movement in the places and people He is invited to fill. As the Holy Spirit filled Jesus, He moved onto the lives of people wherever He went:

‘God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and… he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil’ – Acts 10:38 (NIV)

As Jesus moved, He broke the chains that locked people in prison and prevented them from freely moving forward into the good things God had for them:

“The Spirit of the Lord… has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor… to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see [and] that the oppressed will be set free…” – Luke 4:18-19 (NLT)

Just as the Holy Spirit caused Jesus to move 2000 years ago, so He is causing a supernatural movement across the face of the earth today as everyday people like you and I move into the darkest places to bring the life of the Holy Spirit.

Wherever there is life, there is movement; and movement always causes movement in something or someone else. Whenever you take the step of faith and move into the lives of others, the Holy Spirit will always cause something to move in or out of them.

Don’t remain still or stagnant any longer. Never allow the muscles of your heart or your life to cramp up or freeze up, but begin to move by inviting the Holy Spirit to move in you. As you do, you will begin to see things moving in and out of your life and the lives of those around you!
