The Chase

Our lives are energised by the chase.

But although there are many good things to chase in life, we’re all invited to the greatest chase of all.

Hosea 6:3a says, ‘Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him’ (NLT)

To ‘press on’ literally means, ‘to chase, to run after, or to hunt’, and invites us to be aggressive in our pursuit to know God.

This chase requires a certain level of focus and tenacity, and we may need to cut away even some of the good things in life that can distract or lure us off course.

But unlike the elusive treasure at the end of the rainbow, this chase is guaranteed to be rewarded.

The second part of the verse says,

‘As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth’ (6:3b)

As we make this chase our highest goal, God will light our path and pour out the refreshing rain of His presence into every area of life.

Join the greatest chase of all and press on to know the Lord!
