Interfering Parents

Have you ever wondered if it’s ever going to be your turn?

Whether it’s a financial breakthrough, the healing of your body, restoration of relationships or an open door of opportunity, it’s hard not to wonder whether you’ve been neglected or overlooked when so many others around you seem to be the ones getting all the ‘luck’.

I remember watching my son, Oscar sitting down with the other kids as they waited for Father Christmas to hand out their presents. As a parent it was painful to watch, as Oscar was one of the youngest kids and it seemed to him like everyone else was getting a present while he was missing out.

I was impressed with his self control and sweet spirit, but as time went on I became even more impatient than my three year old son and decided to ask the guy with the beard to hurry up and give him the next one.

But something deep within me cried out and commanded me to sit back down. At that moment I promised myself I’d never get that close to the edge of being an interfering parent again!

Although Oscar was one of the last kids to get his gift, he did eventually get it. The question was never if, but when it would happen. Although he may have felt it for a moment (I know I did!), he was not overlooked or neglected at all. His gift was ready the whole time.

This same truth applies to the good things God has for us today. God is a kind and compassionate Father who delights to give good gifts to His children.

During Jesus’ time on earth, God gave gifts to all who came to Him:

‘As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick friends and family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one’ – Luke 4:40 (NLT)

Although there was a huge crowd of people, Jesus met every single person’s individual need with the healing touch of His hand.

No matter what you or someone in your life might be going through, there is hope. Your turn is coming, because the touch of Jesus’ hand brings healing to every single one!
