In the midst of his sickness, we promised our bedridden, energy depleted boy that we’d take him out for pancakes once he recovered.
He soon felt better, but it wasn’t until a week later that we came through on our promise. For Oscar, the delay was not a denial. We simply waited for the right time.
In the same way, God’s delays on His promises are not His denials. He gives us a picture that demonstrates His promises would always come to pass:
“The rain [falls] and stays on the ground to water the earth. [It] causes the grain to grow, producing… bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it” – Isaiah 55:10-11 (NLT)
Don’t dig up the seeds of God’s promise if you don’t yet see the fresh green buds bursting through, but give time for the water to take full effect. In His perfect timing you will see for yourself that His Word will prosper ‘everywhere He sends it’!
