If you want a plant to truly flourish, you need to take it out of the pot and plant it in the soil.
When you take a plant out of the constricted space of a pot, it’s roots are free to go down deep into the soil to draw water and nutrients, and there is space to expand and grow.
Likewise, if you want to flourish in life, you need to be planted and not potted. You need to be planted in the ‘house of God’ rather than remaining ‘potted’ and uncommitted:
“But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.
For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.
Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.”
Psalms 92:12-14 (NLT)
If you want to flourish in life, it’s simple: Choose to be planted – to go all in – with your local church.
You won’t find a perfect one. There will be many many areas of potential growth.
But rather than finger pointing, be the answer to the problems you see. Get planted, and get on board with the 2000 year old ancient mission initiated by Jesus Himself, to:
“Go into all the world and make disciples of all the nations!”
